Well, maybe it's about time to blog again. I'll try to write more about my boring life. Actually, for me it's not that boring anymore. I'll start with my trip. The past week I went to Washington, the state. The greater Seattle area is a wonderful place to be.

While I was there, I got on the caffeine wagon. I don't know what it is. You go to Seattle, you drink coffee. I just can't take the coffee away from the Seattle. After about 50 cups of coffee, we traveled up to Whistler, Canada. For you trivia buffs, Vancouver and Whistler will be hosting the 2010 winter olympics. While in the mountains, we did some nice hiking and gondola riding. And of course, coffee drinking. Here's my souvenir from the trip:

Whistler Roasting Company

Yes, coffee. I must admit, West coast coffee (except for starbucks) tastes a lot better than midwest coffee.

I'm going to keep you guys in suspense about the rest of my trip. More to come later!

Real life move.

A convicted felon, sentenced to death, his last dying wish refused to be fulfilled by the government. But the people, the people take up the cause, and bring his vision to completion.
Executed man's last request honored.

In some weird way it reminded me of Braveheart.

Today I saw the following headline on CNN:

"U.N.: Warming ruining society, nature
Top climate experts warned on Friday that global warming will cause faster and wider damage than previously forecast, ranging from hunger in Africa and Asia to extinctions and rising sea levels." (Emphasis mine)

Now, this is a pretty scary story. But the picture that accompanied it lightened the mood a little... anyone see any irony here?

It looks like the water level in this picture has actually receded...

Passion. Belief. Knowledge.

I am watching these three words frolic and dance togeather in my head. Words that have never interacted togeather on such a deep level are now working on a waltz.

What good is your passion if it's not about something you believe?

What good is your belief if you don't know anything about it?

You can have passion about something you don't believe. You can believe something you don't know, or don't care to know about. But that's so short-lived. Superficial.

But if you Know what you Believe, and Passion comes up out from that, the words start dancing togeather. It can be powerful. Moving. Long-lasting. Beautiful.
